A Michigan comic book store was looking to start selling model and kits based in Giant Robot IP from the 1970 to 2000 (Gundam, Getter Robo, etc), but primary items from the Mazinger line (Transor Z in the United States). I decided to use Mazinger Z as the main focal point of the design since he is considered the “Grandfather of Giant Robos”,

Being a fan of that genre in both cartoon and model format, I volunteered to design a poster to be used as the main marketing piece to help launch this new initiative. Since this store is located adjacent to downtown Detroit, the client base are onto the hip hop and urban style and aesthetic. I used a basis of tech inspired style and loud colors to reach their intended audience.
